EIIF: Game & Story - Finding the Fun in Narrative Improv

with Graham Dickson

(Sat 4 Mar: 1:10pm)

Narrative improv is hard, but can be incredibly rewarding for an audience.

Learning the skills to improvise a (semi-)coherent story that engages an audience on an emotional level is a big enough job in itself - which is why so many Narrative shows become too plotty and not funny enough. Graham will introduce students to some really accessible and applicable ways of balancing Game and Story from scene to scene in your narrative show.

Some improv experience, or at least an interest in Narrative improv would be ideal.

~~~~~
Edinburgh International Improv Festival is in its 5th year and we are back bigger, stronger and bolder than ever!
The festival has become one of the biggest and most important improv festivals in Europe and we are delighted to be back at the Scottish Storytelling Centre.
We have an incredible line-up of workshops from some of the BEST improvers in the US including members from popular New York improv show RaaaatScraps and veteran performers at the Upright Citizens Brigade. Join us in 2023 for more fun and laughter.
