Workshop Info
Dramatherapy (with Kate Stevens)
The Scottish Storytelling
Forum is committed to supporting the wellbeing of its network members.
In recent years in the traditional arts sector, instances have been
publicly highlighted around abuses of power, sexism, and inappropriate
behaviour. The Forum would like to offer our membership a safe,
supported and professionally led space in which to air experiences, work
through situations they may have found themselves in or to simply be
heard. For most Storytellers in the Network working freelance and alone
is normal practice. However, this can leave storytellers feeling like
they don’t know where to turn or who will back them up if they are faced
with negative or borderline situations. This session is for anyone to
bring any issue that has been weighing on them and air it in a safe,
supported and confidential space with registered Dramatherapist Kate
Stevens.
Crafting with Story (with Claire Hewitt)
Storyteller Claire
Hewitt invites you to create a wee felt pouch that fits in your pocket.
A pocket you can fill with dreams, magical feathers and stones, shells
and bones, stories and songs. And whilst the hands are busy listen to a
beautiful tale of how happiness came.
Musicking the Story (with Daniel Serridge and Neil Wood)
This
session will give you the opportunity to explore how your telling
changes and grows when working in tandem with a musician. They will
explore pace, rhythm, atmosphere and whole host of other factors. The
workshop will explore the idea that there is not music and story but
that everyone is musicking!
One-to-One Sessions
Mentoring (with Dr Jo Miller)
Throughout the day Jo will be
offering taster mentoring sessions. Details provided upon booking.
Dramatherapy (with Kate Stevens)
After lunch, Kate will be
offering short 30 minute individual dramatherapy sessions to anyone who
wishes a more private consultation or for whom things may have come up
on the day. Details provided upon booking.
