Untellable Tales: Femininities
Part of Edinburgh Tradfest

‘Untellable Tales: Femininities’ is an evening of live storytelling with a selection of folk tales that are part of our cultural heritage, but are no longer culturally relevant. The stories focus on the female experience and discuss issues of sexuality, violence, consent, honour and the definition of femininity in the collective cultural consciousness.
These tales helped shape today’s perceptions, and the storytellers seek to engage with them with a critical eye, inviting the audience to a discussion about the way these themes were presented, understood and transmitted. The event aims to hold our cultural past accountable, and investigate what this means for our collective social consciousness.
Led by storyteller Kleio Pethainou with guest contributors.
