Bear with Me: A Polar Bear in Scotland

(Sun 26 Feb: 7pm) *This event is Sold Out*

Arty is a day-dreaming, inquisitive young polar bear who was born in Scotland, but longs to see the world. When he inadvertently ends up on a voyage far from home, over heather, hills, ocean and snow Arty discovers more than he could have bargained for.

Bear With Me: A Polar Bear in Scotland is the new musically-scored, visually-illustrated spoken word show from poet Stuart Kenny, musician Grant Robertson and illustrator Lewis Gillies.

Featuring an original narrative, catchy live music and adorable illustrations, the show takes the audience on a rip-roaring adventure, pondering over ideas of home, identity and our place in the world along the way.

The show is the spiritual sequel to the trio’s acclaimed 2018 show The Space Gecko Project, which debuted at Hidden Door Festival and enjoyed a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and Scottish Storytelling Centre. Nominated for a Saboteur Award, Geckos was described as “the most wholesome show in Scottish Poetry” (the Skinny) and “wonderfully weird” (Sunday Post) with “lovely, meditative, positive poetry” (BBC Scotland).
