Tickets are on sale now for the first Edinburgh Writers’ Forum event of 2023. Join us at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on January 10th for an evening with author Jenny Colgan and Wren & Rook’s Publishing Director Laura Horsley.

Jenny Colgan is the author of numerous Sunday Times bestselling novels and has won various awards for her writing, including the Melissa Nathan Award for Comedy Romance, the RNA Romantic Novel of the Year Award and the RNA Romantic Comedy Novel of the Year Award. Her books have sold more than five million copies worldwide and in 2015 she was inducted into the Love Stories Hall of Fame. Jenny is married with three children and divides her time between Edinburgh and a castle in Fife. Her current book The Christmas Bookshop is ‘gorgeous, glorious and uplifting’ according to Marian Keyes, while Jojo Moyes called it ‘an evocative, sweet treat’. Jenny will be talking about her huge success as a writer of romantic fiction and why she gets incensed by attitudes towards her chosen genre.

Laura Horsley is Publishing Director at Wren & Rook, the children’s non-fiction imprint at Hachette Children’s Group. Laura has published bestsellers by a range of authors including Bryony Gordon, Dr Alex George, Matthew Burton, Sinead Burke and Matt Oldfield. She started her career at Canongate Books after studying English and History at the University of Glasgow, has previously worked at Ebury Press and Penguin Random House and now lives in Edinburgh and works in the Hachette Edinburgh office. Laura will be discussing what she does at Wren & Rook and Hachette’s new venture in Edinburgh.
