Into the Woods: In the Footsteps of Thomas the Rhymer
Part of Edinburgh Tradfest and Easy Sundays

(Sun 7 May: 12pm)
A new take on the ancient border ballad of Thomas the Rhymer with specially composed music performed by the well-known multi-instrumentalist and composer John Sampson. Thomas encounters the beautiful Queen of Elfland who offers him a choice of 3 paths. We join in the mystery and magic of Thomas’s story with singing and playing, but who can spot the magic treasures?
The ballad is narrated by award-winning actor Julia Munrow, with music by Pete Baynes, and features bronze sculptures created by artist Anna Caro at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop.
