Edinburgh Writers' Forum
June Meeting

(Tue 13 June: 7pm)
Join the Writers' Forum in June when they will be welcoming author Lucy Ribchester and Edinburgh Bookshop Events Coordinator Olivia Kekewich as guest speakers.
Lucy Ribchester is the author of four novels under two different names. She has been awarded a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award and a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship. Her short fiction has been shortlisted for the COSTA Short Story Award, the Manchester Fiction Prize, and broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Her next novel Murder Ballad is set in 18th-century Edinburgh and will be published under her own name in 2024. Lucy will be talking about her publishing experiences, how parenting has changed her writing, navigating failure, and the joy of playing with pseudonyms.
Olivia Kekewich is Assistant Manager and Events Coordinator at the Edinburgh Bookshop. In 2019, she received the James Patterson Young Bookseller Special Achievement Award and in 2022 was shortlisted for Individual Bookseller of the Year at the British Book Awards (the Nibbies). She has also helped to lead Edinburgh Bookshop to achieving Scottish Independent Bookshop of the Year five of the last 10 years (including in 2023). Olivia is also co-creator of Wee Three Indies, which brings virtual author events to readers. She is currently working with the Edinburgh Writers’ Forum to set up the new Edinburgh Women’s Fiction Festival, due to pilot this October. Olivia will be discussing how writers can work with independent bookshops to create compelling events and also a bit about the ideas behind the new book festival and how the team are bringing it together.
A booking fee of £1.25 is charged per transaction for online and phone bookings. If you are a Storytelling Centre Supporter please add a full price ticket to the basket. Your discount will be automatically added at checkout.
