EIIF: What World Do You Live In?

with Monika Smith

(Sun 3 Mar: 10am - SOLD OUT)

The reason sometimes people have trouble finding the game of the scene is because they don't know what's crazy in the world they created. In this class you will focus on creating boring worlds, fun worlds, worlds that will never exist again! By working with top-of-intelligence you will discover what is unusual in these worlds so you can have clear games in the silliest scenes.

Monika Smith has been performing improv for over twenty years getting her start touring with The Second City in her homeland, Canada. She's performed at Theatre Sports, IO, was the Artistic Director at Nerdist, and performed at Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre on numerous harold and house teams since 2009. She currently teaches improv at UCB and World's Greatest Improv School, and has written curriculums for The Second City, Nerdist, IO, as well as improv schools in China and has toured the world teaching and performing. If you're in LA you can catch her performing regularly at UCB in some fun shows including Form Night, Good Mourning, and the Improvised Movie.

Edinburgh International Improv Festival is a four day celebration of long-form improv, with teams and performers from around the world converging on the Scottish Storytelling Centre for a long weekend of creativity, community and connection.

With shows, workshops and late night jams, join EIIF for a weekend of one of a kind, never to be repeated shows, moments of surprise and delight, and unique opportunities to connect with some of the best improvisers in the world. This year, this includes two of Los Angeles' best teams: Holy Shit Improv and World’s Greatest Improv School’s The Bozos.
