Easy Sundays: Scotland's Music
with the Edinburgh Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra
(Sun 8 Sep: 1pm)
Join friends from the Edinburgh Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra who will be telling a Scottish story with music from north to south and offering a selection of music by great Scottish musicians of the last three centuries.
Edinburgh Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra (EMGO) was formed 15 years ago and rehearses weekly in term time with performances taking place throughout the year. It has a wide repertoire of music including light classical, world, film and Scottish music. For the most part it plays music arranged for two mandolin voices, mandolas and guitars, producing a rich sound on its ensemble of plucked instruments.
EMGO is always keen to attract new members, it’s an “open” orchestra meaning does not ask new members to audition. So you and your instrument are welcome to come along when it meets on Thursdays. See their website for contact details.
