Storytelling, Traditional

Scotland Unsung

Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025

(20-24 Aug: 12pm)

In the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, folksinger Kirsty Law invites you in for a different impression of Scotland's past, exploring female and queer narratives, movement of people and sharing of cultures.

Centuries of folk tradition have kept these songs and stories safe when the history books didn't, kept safe by people who often couldn't read or write, but always sang. With a sound that ranges from contemporary and uncanny to timeless unaccompanied vocal, Kirsty casts light on hidden voices and stories unsung.

'Her melding of the traditional with the modern is entrancing' (Scotsman)
