Easy Sundays: All Together Tales


Part of the Accessible Book & Story Mini-Festival 2025

Join artist Kate Leiper and storyteller Ailie Finlay (from My Kind of Book) for some relaxed and cheery sensory stories, play and art. We’ll squeak, swish and hum our way through the stories before getting splodgy and splattery with some inclusive art activities. A fun and engaging session for everyone but particularly suitable for children with additional needs and their families and friends.

    Sensory Stories: Sharing Practice

    (Fri 5 Sep: 2pm) A chance to come together with peers to explore sensory storytelling and creative practices. Hear from teachers, care workers and arts professionals who will share their experiences of writing and telling sensory stories in an informal networking and sharing session. Open to all, whether experienced practitioners or newly interested in sensory storytelling, with space for contributions from all. Led by Ailie Finlay from My Kind of Book, let’s celebrate sensory storytelling (and there will be tea and cake to share as well)!

    Workshop: Make Your Own Sensory Story

    (Sat 6 Sep: 10:30am - SOLD OUT) Sensory stories combine words and intriguing props and objects to create wonderfully engaging tales suitable for the very young, for people with additional needs and for all to enjoy! Learn the steps to creating your own sensory story with Ailie Finlay from My Kind of Book and experts from PAMIS and CALL Scotland. This workshop is designed for storytellers, teachers and creatives with an interest in sensory storytelling. ~~~~~~~~~~ Presented by the Scottish Storytelling Forum, these participatory sessions are designed to help you improve your skills and share your experiences with fellow storytelling enthusiasts. This carefully curated workshop programme offers you the chance to work with highly-skilled and experienced artists, giving you guidance on improving your practice and discovering your own talent. Did you know? Members of the Scottish Storytelling Forum are entitled to discounted rates on our storytelling workshops.
