What is... Traditional Music?

with Claire Frances MacNeil | Edinburgh Tradfest 2026

(Tue 5 May: 1pm)

In this week of Edinburgh Tradfest this might seem a daft question, but come and challenge your preconceptions with a fresh perspective from guest speaker Claire Frances MacNeil - native of Barra, Gaelic singer, fiddler, scholar and recipient of the Gold Medal for traditional singing at the 2024 National Mòd.

Stay on afterwards for a free session of music from members of the Scots Music Group at Cafe Cèilidh.
