Fringe 2025

Welcome to the Scottish Storytelling Centre Fringe programme 2025, with 32 different events to explore this August!

Join us on a journey through traditional and contemporary storytelling, music, theatre, spoken word and shows for families.

Stories need an audience – people to hear them, imagine them and pass them on – so we invite you to join this carrying stream and become part of the story this Fringe. Whether seeing a show, browsing our bookshop or refreshing yourself at the Haggis Box Café, the Scottish Storytelling Centre is the perfect place for locals, families and visitors to meet. Our programme for August is specially curated to reflect the energy and variety of our year-round offer, so you are also very welcome any time of the year.

There’s food in the eating place, drink in the drinking place, and stories in the listening place – it’s all there waiting to be enjoyed.

We look forward to welcoming you this August!

Access and Enhanced Performances

As ever, inclusion is at the heart of our programming. A number of enhanced performances will be taking place across the month, including captioned, relaxed and BSL-interpreted. Touch tours are available upon request for a number of shows. Click the buttons below for the full enhanced performance programme or to read our full Access Statement.

Traditional Tales from Scotland

Every day between Sat 2 Aug – Sun 24 August, join some of Scotland’s best storytellers as they share their favourite traditional tales from near and far.

From fairies and selkies to castles and kelpies, these stories have inspired writers, storytellers and artists throughout the centuries. Featuring a different teller every day!
