Fringe 2026

Join us this August to celebrate 20 years of the Scottish Storytelling Centre! As the world’s first purpose-built centre for oral storytelling, the SSC is a welcoming space for locals, families and visitors to meet and enjoy the wonder of stories. Through mythology, folklore, story and song the Fringe 2026 programme explores the connections and common ground we share across time, language and culture while celebrating 20 years of the cèilidh atmosphere at the heart of the Scottish Storytelling Centre.

There’s food in the eating place, drink in the drinking place, and stories in the listening place – it’s all there waiting to be enjoyed!

Access and Enhanced Performances

As ever, inclusion is at the heart of our programming. A number of enhanced performances will be taking place across the month, including captioned, audio described and BSL interpreted. Click the buttons below for the full enhanced performance programme or to read our Venue Access Statement.

Traditional Tales from Scotland

To celebrate 20 years of the Scottish Storytelling Centre, join some of our amazing tellers as they share their favourite traditional tales from around the world.

From fairies and selkies to castles and kelpies, these stories have inspired writers, storytellers and artists throughout the centuries. Featuring a different teller every day!
