Wandering Willie's Tale

(Sat 8 Apr: 7:30pm)

HotTrod Theatre Company brings Sir Walter Scott’s Gothic yarn to the stage.

The story is a self-contained episode in Scott’s 1824 novel Redgauntlet and was originally adapted for the stage by Judy Steel and John Nichol.

Set in the late 17th century, with the blood of the Covenanters still fresh on the ground, this is the supernatural tale of blind fiddler and Wandering Willie’s grandfather, Steenie. It tells of Steenie’s mysterious and terrifying journey to prove his loyalty towards his master, the merciless Sir Robert Redgauntlet. Steenie and the various other protagonists are masterfully brought to life by John Nichol, and music from renowned fiddler Iain Fraser adds atmosphere and authenticity.

It’s captivating, humorous and a wee bit scary.
