Fair Saturday Ceilidh House
(Sat 25 Nov: 7pm)
Join us for a relaxed evening of dancing, music, stories, friendship and food presented in the traditional Scottish ceilidh style, to celebrate Fair Saturday and the forthcoming St. Andrew's Day. A warm welcome awaits you in the lovely setting of the Centre's Storytelling Court.
This special Fair Saturday event brings together multi-instrumentalist members of The Balkan Ceilidh Collective (Chris Lyons, Kate Young & Lauren Collier) performing a mix of eastern European and Scottish music with called dances. Also performing will be storyteller Tim Porteus and his Ukrainian storytelling counterparts, alongside folk dance artists Anastasiia Boiko, Tetiana Hordiienko and Inna Semeniak from Kvity Ukrainy (Flowers of Ukraine) – Edinburgh's Ukrainian folk dance ensemble.
The ticket price includes a full evening's cultural programme to watch and participate in, as well as energy-boosting haggis, neeps and tatties provided by our resident Haggis Box Cafe. Vegetarian and vegan options are available and you will be contacted after booking to confirm these details.
