EIIF: Tags and Tag Runs
with Suzi Barrett
(Sat 2 Mar: 10am - SOLD OUT)
Feeling shy on the back line? Questioning whether your support moves are good enough? Not to worry! The first part of this workshop is all about stoking your creative furnace and drilling tags until they become second nature.
In the second part, you’ll take that explosion of ideas and focus them like a laser, working on second beat tactics like blowing out the world, taking characters on a journey, cutaways and cutbacks, jumping to an unexpected POV, and more!
Suzi Barrett has been studying, performing, and teaching improv for 25 years. A student of io, The Second City, and UCB, she spent 3 years in Amsterdam performing with Boom Chicago before finally landing in LA. At UCB, she has taught all levels and coached 6 Harold teams, many of which graduated to house team status. She’s also a member of the long-running house team Sentimental Lady, and co-produces/performs with Pretty Darn Queer. On the indie scene, she is half of the popular duo Elephants Gerald, and was the co-founder of LA’s indie training program Improv Bootcamp. Her TV credits include Drunk History and How I Met Your Mother and she was a series regular on the part-improvised Disney sitcom Just Roll With It. You can catch her on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast, the livestreams of Holy Shit Improv, or on TikTok @suzibear44.
