Battle of the Birds: A Darker Tale

A re-imagining of the Battle of the Birds by storyteller Owen Pilgrim brings out a darker side of the story, drawing on the original tale and inspired by elements from esoteric Scottish folklore and history and woven with Traveller stories of the Devil and his trickery. Featuring a unique live soundtrack by sound artist Gordon Cameron.

This year’s Festival explores the rich relationship between storytelling and the natural world through our theme Bird and Beast. Alongside a vibrant programme at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh, storytellers across Scotland bring these tales to life this autumn through the Go Local programme.
