Thig còmhla rinn gus ‘Sruth an Eòlais’ a chomharrachadh le Caitlin Dhòmhnallach, Fionnlagh Mac a’ Phiocar agus Iain MacCarmaig.

Coinneamh mhìosail de chultar is coimhearsnachd na Gàidhlig ann an Dùn Èideann, làn sgeulachdan, òrain, ceòl (agus deagh chraic!). Gach mìos bidh sinn a’ cuir fàilte air measgachadh ùr de luchd-ealain, agus mar as àbhaist bidh ùine is àite ann airson còmhraidh, càirdeas agus cèilidh.

Join friends from Bothan Dhùn Èideann for a special Carrying Stream edition of their regular session! Featuring Fionnlagh Mac a’ Phiocar, Iain Cormack and Kathleen MacDonald.

A regular session of Gaelic culture and community in Edinburgh, full of stories, songs, music (and great craic!). Each session brings a fresh mix of performers, with plenty of time and space for conversation, connection, and friendship.

Bothan Dhùn Èideann is a not-for-profit group, active for over 21 years, promoting and developing the Scottish Gaelic language and culture in Edinburgh, and creating a space where everyone, regardless of background, feels comfortable celebrating Gaelic. The event is presented entirely in Gaelic, and all are welcome: fluent speakers, learners, and everyone in between.

’S e amas na fhèille a bhith a’ comharrachadh agus a’ brosnachadh an ‘Carrying Stream’ (beul oideachas/beul aithris, sa Ghàidhlig) – an t-slighe nàdarrach anns a bheil ceòl, òrain, sgeulachdan agus cultar gan toirt seachad bho dhuine gu duine agus bho ghinealach gu ginealach. Thòisich an fhèill gu tùsail aig Edinburgh Folk Club, agus tha an SSC air leth toilichte a bhith an sàs san ath-bheothachadh aice am-bliadhna, còmhla ri caraidean is com-pàirtichean Dhùn Èideann.

This autumn, explore the changing world of the traditional arts and the legacy of the great Scottish folklorist, songwriter and activist Hamish Henderson. Audiences, writers and traditional artists of all kinds will come together as part of the Carrying Stream Festival 2026 for gatherings, talks, sessions, workshops and performances.

The ethos of the festival is to celebrate and encourage the Carrying Stream; the organic route by which music, song, stories and culture are passed on from person to person and from generation to generation. The Festival originated with the Edinburgh Folk Club and SSC is delighted to be part of its revival this year along with friends and partners across Edinburgh.
