Fair Saturday Celebration with Niall Moorjani and Friends
(Sat 28 Nov: 5pm)
Join host Niall Moorjani and friends for an evening of story, music and sharing for Fair Saturday! Featuring storyteller Laura Sampson and a line-up of emerging BPOC storytellers, with music from Diljeet Kaur Bhachu. This performance also marks the completion and culmination of a five-week storytelling course that five newly emerging BPOC storytellers have completed with Niall. With tales from the Ramayan, Egypt under British occupation, a mysterious Caribbean island and an ordinary girl, it promises to be an evening of bpoc celebration, reclamation, and storytelling joy!

Dr Diljeet Kaur Bhachu is a musician, educator, activist and co-founder of the Scottish-Asian Creative Artists’ Network (ScrAN). Her 2025 debut album Double Lives explores themes of self, identity, heritage and ancestry through flutes, electronics, spoken word and vocals.
Laura Sampson is a British-Trinidadian storyteller, author and noh practitioner. She tells stories of big emotions, surreal situations - and misunderstood old ladies - from across the world.
Niall Moorjani is a non-binary, neurodiverse, Scottish-Indian writer and storyteller. They perform and write for both children and adults, but at the core of all their work are themes of hope, joy and kindness.

Each year, thousands of artists and cultural organisations around the world come together in a unique global movement to celebrate culture and support social causes through their event. On 28th November 2026, Scotland is joining the celebration of Fair Saturday, and everyone is invited to take part.
Fair Saturday places art and culture at the centre of society. In these uncertain times, it is more necessary than ever to acknowledge the work of artists and cultural and social organisations and to support their work. Through a programme of cultural events and activities, each supporting a social project or the local community, Fair Saturday promotes social inclusion, kindness and sharing.
